THE SALON

Canine Design is a modern, well equipped, clean and spacious grooming salon where we give the best care available to your pet. All of the groomers at Canine Design are qualified to at least City & Guilds Level 2 standard and up to City & Guilds Level 4 (LCGI) - we are all active in continually updating our qualifications and skills and are working towards the Higher Diploma (Level 5) which is the highest qualification attainable in the UK. We have also been shortlisted for the UK Grooming Business of the Year Award 2009.

In addition to having dog grooming skills to a very high standard, all the groomers at Canine Design believe very strongly that all the dogs at the salon should have the best experience possible and take great care to ensure that they enjoy their visits to us. This is proven in the fact that most dogs visiting us are very happy to come through the door - obviously we have the occasional dog who does not enjoy the grooming experience, but we strive to make the grooming process as enjoyable as possible, even for the reluctant visitors!

The Salon

Please note all prices are for dogs in reasonable condition, and an added charge will be made for animals in a neglected or matted condition, or if we experience behaviour problems which may add time to the overall grooming process. We also groom cats and our prices are from £50 depending on the condition of the cat. We would point out that we will not put any animals through unnecessary stress and if we feel your pet is distressed, we will discontinue the grooming process and arrange collection as soon as is reasonably possible.

Puppies

Puppies which will require regular grooming should be brought into the salon as soon as possible (after their puppy vaccinations have taken effect) in order to familiarise them with the grooming environment and so we can advise you on how best to take care of your puppy's coat. We may have the puppy in for a couple of sessions (free of charge) where we will simply get them used to the grooming table and generally make the grooming environment a pleasant place to be. They can then be put on a grooming schedule, increasing the amount or work which is done with each visit, ensuring that they enjoy the grooming process for the rest of their lives.

To make an appointment please telephone the salon on (01749) 830723 and we will be happy to discuss your pet's requirements.

Model Dogs

As we run a dog grooming training school in addition to the grooming salon, we have a limited requirement for relatively well behaved dogs to be groomed by our well-supervised trainees. We will groom these dogs at a reduced rate (or sometimes free of charge if we require your particular breed). If you are interested in having your dog added to our list of 'models' please telephone the salon on (01749) 830723.
