CANINE DESIGN ACADEMY OF GROOMING

LESLEY GARRATT
I am the owner and founder of Canine Design. I do the majority of the training and my qualifications are as follows:

City & Guilds Level III Advanced (credit)

NVQ 730 Level III in Teaching and Adult Education

Diploma in the Canine/Human Interface with the Animal Care College.

I am a regular demonstrator at grooming seminars. I show my Affenpinscher at Championship show level and have competed successfully with him at Crufts on several occasions, I do agility for fun with my Affenpinscher and my Shar Pei cross and regularly attend training and ringcraft classes. I have now passed the first two modules of my Higher Diploma with a Bedlington Terrier and a Parson Russell, which means I am now eligible for a City & Guilds Licentiateship.

KELLY DAVIS
Kelly is the Dog Grooming Manager and works part time at Canine Design. She is a valuable member of the team and has been with me since 2002, starting out as a work experience trainee. She is both a very talented groomer and her expertise lies with her excellent handling of the animals in her care. Kelly is the senior groomer and also assists with teaching the trainees and has proved to be very popular with them, with her attention to detail but relaxed approach. She has achieved all 3 practical units for her City & Guilds Level III Advanced Examination - her westie with a credit. She has also completed a course in the Canine Touch (a holistic approach to calming and reassuring animals), and she has her NVQ 730 Level I in Teaching and Adult Education. She has also completed a course in animal healing. So, you can see Kelly has been a very busy young lady, and her list of achievements is impressive! Kelly owns 7 horses, a Shar Pei and a Japanese Akita.
